+P E R S O N A L+

Breed: Chinese Li Hua

Physical description: [ What your character looks like. [ Brown w/ black tabby ] [ Obsidian ] [ Sturdy and average height ] [ Teasing and light ] [ Sweet smoke(incense) and sandalwood]

Pelt:

Li's pelt is a chocolate brown color with soft cream around his eyes and mouth. The tom has an ambery-brown for under markings and than almost-black mackeral tabby markings. His fur is medium length and is silky soft. The tip of his tail has longer fur than anywhere on his body, giving it a pny tail-esq look. Li has been compared to a tiger many a times, and for good reason: his tabby-ticked fur makes him look like a small, brown tiger cub. The bottom of Li's toes, heels of his hind legs, tip of his tail, and back of his ears are the same dark color of his tabby markings. The soft cream is underneath Li's eyes, marked like short eyebrows, and on his cheeks and chin while the under markings are on his cheeks, bridge of his nose, chest, belly, and bottom of tail.

Eyes:
Li Yao is a tom who seemingly lives with his eyes closed. Very few have even seen the color of Li's eyes, let alone for enough time to be able to describe them accurately. However, in those odd times Li opens his eyes one can see the deep obsidian pupils. His eyes are pitch colored and gleam with fire and passion that not many can rival. Most of the time when they're open, however, most felines only get to see a rage and fury that doesn't seem to belong to a kind cat like Li Yao. he has narrow eyes mmhhm

Build:
Like all Li Hua, Li is a sturdy tom. He's well built and strong, and the kind of cat who can survive pretty harsh terrains. He's mostly leg and has a normal length tail. The tom has large paws and a more barrel-chest(dog like almost...smaller but similar). Li also has muscle beneath his fur, that sturdy shape isn't all chubs.

Voice:
Li has a very jovial voice with a generally light tone regardless of any situation. The tom has a rather friendly and playful tone, making many cats feel welcome in his presence and giving Li himself a warm demeanor. However, once in a blue moon Li gets angry(or more accurately, shows his temper) and his kind tone drops into a harsher one. Li's voice can quickly become threatening and harsh when he's angry, and very strained when he's upset.
He still has a Chinese accent despite having been traveling with not only the circus but by himself for a year and half!

Scent:
Li actually uses incense in quite a few of his torches and wicks, which gives the smoke a sweet smell.(Nobody knows what scent he actually uses aha) This smokey scent clings to the tom's coat, no mater how much he washes. As an accompaniment to the incense sandalwood also clings to Li's pelt.
He just smells like a guy and sweet smoke. Very simple X'D

Accessories: [ Tail band] [ Earing] [ Jacket ]

Tail Band:
A strip of fabric tied around the end of Li's tail. He's had it since he was young; it was a gift from a childhood friend.

Earing:
An earing Li recently got. It's a reminder of his home and a way to commemorate how far he's come. Li originally got it when he was first accepted into the Circus and later had the Yin symbol added when he became a 5th tier preformer.

Jacket:
Li's show jacket. It's gold with a deep red stylized trim. While it was meant for preformances only the tom has taken to wearing it most of the time, and it's not surprising to him strolling about the town with the jacket on.

Personality: [ How your character acts. [Playful] [Loyal] [Ruthless] [Deceptive ] [Avaricious] [Tenatious]

:bulletgreen: Playful
-Li's a jovial tom with next to no shame. He loves to tease and even "antaginize"  other felines just for fun. He loves to play pranks, and very little even upsets him. In general Li's a fun-lover and gets along well due to his upbeat attitude and jokster tendancies. Many cats fall victim to his foolish passtimes. In the past Li would leave notes for Yin when they were young, but he hasn't done so recently due to a lack of reason. He would also leave things like fake presets and steal tiny trinkets and hide them, leaving a few hints for victims to find their belongings -

:bulletgreen: Loyal
-When it comes down to it Li would do anything for those he cares about. To him friends and family are the most important thing. Li was raised in a tight-knit troupe who was basically a giant family. His friends parents were aunts and Yin's grandfather was HIS grandfather too. He's used to a large family protecting each other no mater what, and as such he does the same for those he cares deeply for.-

:bulletred: Ruthless
-Now, Li isn't exactly the most...ethical guy. He will do anything to get what he wants. It doesn't matter what he has to do: steal, lie, cheat, hurt, or even kill Li would do it if the end game was worth enough to him. To Li the ends justify the means. He doesn't really care about those who get in his way, and when Li's on the war path absolutely nothing can stop him.-

:bulletred: Deceptive
-Most cats would consider Li to be rather kind. In fact, he's been regularly described as a charasmatic and kind tom. However, Li has a vicious streak a mile wide. He isn't as kind or nice as he seems. Li is a cunning and even cruel tom who has little sympathy for those around him. In fact, Li Yao is a rather selfish and greedy cat. He is a fantastic actor and can lie through his teeth without anyone around him noticing.-

:bulletred: Avaricious
-Greedy. Li Yao is possibly one of the greediest, most possessive cats you'll ever has the displeasure of meeting. He wants absolutely everything to be his. As a child Li didn't have a lot, he had famiy but the troupe was poor. As such he's grown up wanting and now that he has Li doesn't want to give an ounce of it up. He's jokingly said that he wants absolutely everything, and that one day he'll have power over the circus if he has anything to say about it.
"Money, women, henchmen... they're all possessions! So killing my henchmen is the same as stealing from me, and I don't let people take what's mine!" - Greed FMAB

:bulletwhite: Tenatious
-One thing Li shows everyone, even with all his lies and fake smiles, is his tenacity. He is the kind of tom who never gives up on anything. Ever. Nothing can make him stop, nothing can hold him back. He will struggle to find a way to do anything he sets his mind to no matter what it takes.-

History: [ "Variety Arts, Not a Circus!" ] ["Trial By Fire" ] [ "Well, I'm a Circus Cat Now..." ] [ "I'm going to get there Māmā!"]
While not specifically mentioned Li and Yin most often caused storms and small "Tsunami"s and the occaisional earthquake....I wanted to focus on the actually story not his abilities screwing eveything over

"Variety Arts, Not a Circus!"
The young kitten(like 8 weeks X'D) stared in awe at his parents as they spun on the stage, perfect balance and grace. The perfect poise as they struck, never quite hitting the other. The little tom turned when some westerner cheered and whispered to a friend about how awsome the "Chinese Circus" was. The tiger-like tom bristled, barring his fangs and glowering at the tom. He opened his mouth to say something, but then snapped it shut again. Not like they'd understand him anyway. Li Yao got up and struted away, tail bristling like a porcipine. His best-friend friend, a she-cat about his age, giggled as swatted his his ear affectionately as the tom sat beside her. Li glanced at Yin and huffed somewhat.
"Whatya laughin' at, Yinny?" he puffed grining even as he tried to grimace.
Yin glanced at Li, her grin fading. The she-kitten flattened her expression and turned back to the stage, watching Li's parents.
"Promise you'll do that with me when we get older?" she asked, not answering Li Yao's question.
"Uh...I-I mean sure, Yinny. As long as I get some fire!" he replied with a wide grin and a nod.
The pair grinned wickedly and bounced to their paws. The solid black she-cat and the tiger-tabby tom jokingly swatted at each other, mimicing the adults on stage from their spot at the base of the large wooden structure. A pair of tourists laughed and pointed at the duo.
"Look at the circus kits!" he sneered laughing.
Li's eyes, closed in joy as he grinned and played with Yin snapped open and the she-cat froze glancing at Li. Her fur bristled as she moved beside her friend.
"Li...Don't...They aren't worth it!"
"No! I'm sick of him. He keeps calling this a circus!" he hissed looking at Yin. The tom turned back to the tourist and in mostly clear English glowered at the tourist. "We preform Variety Arts! We aren't a dumb circus!!"
A lage storm was starting to form despite the clear day....and they were preforming on an open air stage. Li looked around, scared. He sucked in breath between his teeth. Random storms and waves had been striking for weeks now...Since he had been born according to his parents. The small kit shook: he hated storms. However, it only seemed to get worse. Thunder roared in the sky as the rain started pelting down, soaking the crowd and troupe alike. Li Yao's parents both stopped at the troupe leader's command as the crowd scattered for shelter. They gathered up their kit, sharing a look. Li looked at Yin as she was picked up by her grandfather, who was looking an odd mix of exasperated and wary as he watched the tom get carried away......Later that night Li was sneaking off to find Yin and heard her grandfather talking to his parents, voice as gruff as ever.

"I told you that boy-"
"No!" his mother interupted sounding pained, "He can't be!"
"He is! Listen to me! She is too! They both have been causing this storms, it's the only explination!"
"Those are just foolish tales your people picked up when they traveled here!" Li's father snarled.

"They've been arguing for an hour..." Yin whispered from behind Li. The tom turned eyes wide with horror. "I think they're talking about us, Li-Li...."

"Trial By Fire"

The young tom(7 months) breathed deeply: he was panicking inside. The tiger-tabby turned to Yin, eyes closed and he offered a shakey smile to her. The she-cat was just as nervous as Li was, but she was better at staying calm, outwrdly anyhow.
"Our first show, Yinny...We got this!" he huffed, puffing out his chest and swallowing past the lump in his throat. They'd been practicing this routine for months, but the pair had been practicing together since they were young.

Li Yao straightened up and lead the way onto the stage with a flourish of his tail and a bow. Beside him Yin bowed as well. The pair turned to face each other and Yin narrowed her eyes, Li's were closed still. With that the two launched into "battle", music thrumming dynamically as the pair spun and twirled around each other with almost as much grace and poise as Li's parents before them. By the end of the show the two hand come to a halt, locked into an upright position, maws open and fangs bared. The crowd cheered and yelled. For a few moments Li and Yin just stared, chests heaving as they stood on their hindlegs before pulling back slowly, flipping onto all four paws and bowing to the crowd again. The pair left the stage and flopped onto their bellies in the break area. They looked at each other and the pair broke into hysteric laughter, nerves running away as the relished in the feeling of success. They had done. They had passed their first preformance!

It had been a few months(now 1 year old) and Li and Yin had been through many preformances together by now. Li flushed and looked down at the pale golden ribbon in his paws before he closed his eyes, held his head high, and picked up the ribbon. He trotted to his best friend and dropped it at her paws.
"Hey, Yinny...Since we've been through five shows now I jsut wanted to give you a gift...You know, since today is the anniversary of our first preformance!" he rushed, voice light though Yin could hear his anxiety.
She smiled and took the gold ribbon, wrapping it around her right paw, "Tie it for me, Li."
The tom quickly tied the ribbon into a neat bow and Yin purred softly. The she cat nuzzled her best friend and grinned up at him.
"I have a present for you too, Li-Li!" she said affectionately, "Close your eyes."
Li resisted the urge to open his eyes, just to roll them. He resisted the urge. The tom didn't move as he felt something twine around his tail.
"Okay!" Yin called.
Li turned and grinned at the sight of the white ribbon tied around his tail.

"Oi! Li, Yin! You have a show to put on. Let's get out there! Torches don't burn forever!" yelled the troupe leader at the pair with a gruff voice. Li turned and laughed nervously. That was why he was nervous: fire combat. The tom grunted and lead the way again as he and Yin headed onto stage to preform.

It was a disaster. Not because of the preformance. That was perfect. It was because when he let loose the final colum of flame from his maw and Yin leapt over it with a spiral, landing on a hiddenperch and then his back that the flame flared unnaturally. It went out for a moment, like it should, and then it sparked back to life. Li glanced at his Troupe leader and then the crowd. The flame rushed out of control rapidly. Li was terrified, he had no idea what was going on. He shoved Yin into the crowd and started yelling at everyone to get out. The tiger-pelted tom launche himself into the crowd anxiously, the flame roaring across the stage,  as he attempted to make sure everyone got out.  The tom watched his family, the troupe, rush out the back and he shoved the last cat out and lunged forward, the heat burning at his back. The tom rolled through the dust as the flame roared vibrantly behind him.

"Well, I'm a Circus Cat Now...."
Ever since the fire the troup was no more. Li, who was about a year and half old, was traveling alone: his parents hadn't made it out and Yin was traveling with her grandfather.(She did promise to join him eventually) The tom was blamed for the fire, the troupe leader citing that it was his fire that started it in the first place. The young tom had been traveling for a while, heading westward when he came across a circus of strange cats. Cats who had strange natural phenomina following them: just like him. Li stopped counting the towns he had been chased out of. Small towns can only handle so many quakes, storms, and fires after all. This circus, however, the Alizarian Circus....they were safe. The Chinese preformer had been scrounging scraps by using his fire breathing techniques, but he could only handle so much. After following the Alizarian's path for a few weeks he managed to catch up, finally. The tom rushed to join, he needed to get back on a stage, to preform again. It was in his blood, his life, his passion.

Li joined the circus and requested the name of
Lièyàn hǔ(Tiger of Flames; see above for pronunciation!).
Li Yao looked over the circus and chuckled. It was bittersweet. He remembered that day, when he had yelled at someone for calling him a circus kit. He sneered and stalked towards the town. He had plans to commemorate this. He stopped in front of the jewlery shop. He sat down in the chair and looked at the piercer.
"Give me an ear cuff, bud." he said, voice clear and lightly accented. "Plain silver....I'm a circus cat now and I need something gaudy."
The she-cat who was to pierce his ear laughed and shook her head. "Al'ight, squinty....I'll give ya a nice pretty silver cuff."

"
I'm going to get there Māmā!"
He was only second tier. Li ground his teeth and stared straight forward. He would rise up. He wasn't going to just stay with this bloody western circus for his entire life. He was going to find Yin, -gods above, he missed Yinny- and reform their troupe. He would do that or get to the top of this blasted western circus. Give it some oriental flare. The tom grinned at the thought. He certainly had a way to go, but he'd do it!

Li stared at the painter. He dropped the small silver cuff on the desk and grinned.
"I want a Yin symbol on that."
The artist blinked and nodded slowly.
"It cannot fade. I wok with flames."

He'd recently been promoted to a 5th Tier preformer after a a year with the Alizarian Circus. Li chuckled and leered. He was doing it! He was going to rise to the top! As Li left the shop with his newly painted earing the tom whistled a lullaby his mother sang to him as a kit.
"I'm going to get to the top....I'm going to get there, Māmā!"

Random facts:
Bullet; Yellow  Li is extremely acrobatic. He's skilled enough to walk on his forelegs, hindlegs, or flip, jump, spin, twirl, and maintain perfect balance due to his training in both real combat and combat displays.(It's difficult to not hit somebody but move like you're in a real fight. Yin's grandfather also taught the pair actual combat skills in case they would ever need it.)
Bullet; Yellow  Despite having his eyes closed 99% of the time Li doesn't seem to have any sort of trouble navigating any sort of terrain or even preforming with flames. Nobody knows why
Bullet; Yellow  He can actually function without eyesight(if you blindfolded or temporarily blinded him Li could still operate normally, not preforming, but he could function)
Bullet; Yellow  Li got the Yin symbol painting on his earing for being a 5th tier, but it was for his long time bestie and long missed companion Yin.
Bullet; Yellow  Has slight pyromania
Bullet; Yellow  Most of his calamities are eithe fires and severe storms

Taken from "The Life and Times of One Stray Kitten: Part One"
He wasn’t obsessive. Tim had convinced himself of that after repeating it like a mantra for years. He knew he was a freak (but not an obsessive freak, right?). Nobody except a complete freak would be stalking Batman and Robin. Except, Tim didn’t just stalk Batman and Robin. No, he kept the photos, videos, and newspaper clippings he spent years collecting in painstakingly organized scrapbooks that were tucked between the slats under his bed and the mattress. Nobody cared where he was or what he did, so what did it matter if he spent his nights running around Gotham after the dynamic duo. He told himself it was to make sure they were okay, or maybe he could write a report, or….or something. It wasn’t because he was obsessed. Not at all. He wasn’t obsessive after all. He just really worried about kids a little older than he running around in the middle of the night and beating grown men (and women) up. Really, that’s all.
Tim ducked behind the wall as Batman and Robin swung passed the window. It was the second Robin: Jason Peter Todd. He grinned in excitement and snapped a few pictures. He had a few of Jason, but not enough. It just wasn’t fair. As he got older his parents had started demanding he made some friends and have a social life. At the thought Tim just rolled his eyes and slipped the camera around his neck before he slipped down the fire escape and onto the streets.
